I'm a prepaid Vodafone user,  and over the last 3 days,  I've received three text messages (SMS) from a new acquaintance.

My query is that the messages give their phone number and then on the line underneath their phone number it says "Reply cntr. defined",  their text message follows as normal.

I have never seen that on messages before,  can someone explain what it means and why I'm getting that from that person (it does not appear on messages from other people).

Hi Robert

The sending party of the SMS under SMS message settings on their handset has " reply via same message centre " set to ON

Good chance they are using Sonyericsson handset?

Ask them to turn this option to No / Disbale under SMS message settings

Thanks for that,  they do travel overseas a lot,  would they need that setting for overseas?

Great,  I was nervous about telling them to change a setting if they might need it under some circumstances.

Cheers

Quite often PI SE handsets have it on by default
