I've recently bought a mobile device that ISN'T capable of 3G, but claims to support "GPRS/EDGE" and I don't exactly understand how that works.
In short, I'm really only interested in how to configure the settings so that I can go online outside of Wi-fi, and the information it asks for is the following:
Network-
Access:
Account:
Password:
Proxy:
Port:
MMS-

MMS Proxy:

MMSC:
So my main question is, how do I fill that in in order for me to have GPRS/EDGE access? To my understanding, EDGE is a faster version of GPRS? If that the case I would like to configure for EDGE.
I've been browsing vodafone.co.nz this whole morning for more information, such as the cost of GPRS/EDGE, but found nothing. Another question I have is, for EDGE, do I have to do anything on Vodafone's side such as buying a plan? Or do I simply set it up on my phone and then just pay for whatever I use? Or is it possible to buy those 250mb/month plans, does GPRS/EDGE apply to those plans too?
Thanks in advance,
Jun
