Is anyone else having problems connecting to the Internet? I haven't been able to get on since 10am this morning (Lower hutt) and also had problems yesterday. Cheers

Are you on the Cable or ADSL network?

What basic fault checking have you done?

Telstraclear cable. Their website says problems but doesn't give details and I rang them and they said an outage in Wellington but couldn't tell me anything else. Was just wondering if others were having similar problems as I've never lost the Internet for a whole day before. Ive checked the modem and wireless router and everything is connected.

Hi there

Yup - same in Petone (checked with the neighbour and all bad there too)

This is up on twitter (3:47)
Apologies to Wellington, we have an outage impacting some of you, Tech's are working to restore service right now.

Its getting desperate here. Wife & I are having to talk to each other - so I've set up a wireless hotspot from my phone.

Thanks everyone it's always good to know you're not alone. It's a shame Telstra can't put more information on their website - and personally I think losing Internet access for a whole day should be categorized as "major problems" rather than the "some known problems" that they have listed.

I guess it depends how many customers are affected. A single node down out of 100 odd in the region, potentially affecting ~100 or so customers out of a customer base of a few hundred thosand is probably not considered a "major" problem.

Shortly after I posted that last reply Telstra updated their website to say the network was experiencing major problems. Good to see its resolved now anyway.

Hmmm. Not quite. Our service (Johnsonville) was not impacted.
