Not good enough.? Also amusing to see contact cell is an 027 so is the product not good enough to use internaly!

I know some of the other staff have 021's so I assume the 027 was a port. The days of 027 having to be a Telecom account are long long gone.

Balchy: But Iw as an intended recipient......and don;t all mass mailing need to have an opt out thing?

Yes they do.

Once the "new" fever passes, then they should have them fixed before the next media release drops by.

Fair point.  I was under the impression thay had their own prefix.  Don't see too many Telecom / Vodafone employees with work provided phones on ported numbers :)

They do have their own prefix, 0285 from memory, but the whole 027 / 021 / 02whatever branding doesn't mean anything anymore really. It's only a matter of time until we break our mindset, and a little more time until jo public does :-)

Perhaps because the general public still associate 027 with Telecom and 021 with Vodafone, and as long as that’s the case it's not a good image (corporate / work wise) to have an 021 number if you work for Telecom, or an 027 number if you work for Vodafone.

Is that necessarily a bad thing (from a corporate / marketing perspective)?  I would think it unlikely that this perception will change very quickly, so why not make the most of what you've got to work with.  as I understand it Black & White have a number prefix for their use, would not use this as a point of difference (however minor it may be)?

sorry drifting way OT now

- back on topic :)

Not only are everyone's email addresses in plain view but this "media release" has no subject line. If you are going to launch something you need to check, double check and triple check that you have covered the basics.

agreed! and in hindsight may be they should have but it is now water under the bridge, you can turn blue and what has happened can not be undone. For the future though, this is definitely not good enough for a great telco in the making.

PS I am sure none of the beta testers are spammers Sealed

Regarding the email of the press release. Not our finest moment today when so many other things had gone right.

We are truly sorry and embarrassed. This was a human error and one you can imagine someone is feeling pretty bad about.

The intention was to send these out individually to people we wanted to tell personally about our launch.

We unreservedly apologise.

Great, now I wonder how many people have my private email address?

Also, seriously, who in their right mind sends an email with a BMP file as the logo... Geez
