Gee thanks B & W just got an email with a media release and they had put all the email addresses in the to: field so I could see everyones email addresses - what a nice breach of privacy there......

anyone else a bit miffed by this?

Their response.....

Balchy,  I do apologies for this,  They were meant to go out Separately, I can assure you this will not Happen Again.  By the time I realised what I had done this was to late.
This was after I replied moaning about it - a. pretty limp response. b.  whats with the random capitalisation and lack of grammar lol i mean "I do apologies"  beyond fail....

Just got it...

God... that filled up my Thunderbird email window. You could probably see me too (in the first 20ish) and that's a special email for spam anyway, so I've prepared for situations like this :)

total idiots.  you would think a "communications" company would know better.  good way to destroy any trust you had built up with beta testers...

Hrm - the email also doesnt have an unsubscribe option or anything - isnt this against anti spam legislation?

Just to clarify I was offered the Beta test but didnt take them up on it - so does the count as unsolicited email?

I suspect one that is lead by non-technical people, or a company lead by people who thinks "The IT Crowd" is a documentary.

As soneone has already said :

Probably follow this:

contact us immediately on +64 (0) 9 414 9292 quoting the name of the sender and the addressee then delete it from your system.
... from the unintended recipient section of the email.

I didn't receive it . . .

I did get (myfirstname)@bw.co.nz though when I signed up which I no longer have so maybe it went there?

But that is very very not cool. Human error happens, usually at the worst possible time, but ouch!

But Iw as an intended recipient......and don;t all mass mailing need to have an opt out thing?
