Wow, I'm surprised Android doesn't have outgoing SMS rate limits. How are they able to send so many texts?

None of these phone numbers I'm receiving the spam texts from are people I know, so they shouldn't have me in their contact lists which would indicate the app downloads a larger global dictionary to send messages to as it spreads.

I noticed that some phone numbers have sent multiple messages which means it may not be obvious your device is compromised when it happens.

Does anyone know if it has compromised an iOS device yet?

If anyone gets more technical information would be keen to hear it!

Well if they got rid of Lightning and moved to USB-C, I might consider selling a kidney to jump ship.

This just re-enforces why I don't do online banking on my phone. I use the phone to get Two Factor Auth and my computer for the banking login. There is no way a single one of the devices being compromised can cause on an going banking breach for me.

If you use a banking app and don't install junk on your phone then using your phone is safer than using your PC which can also have malware.

My point was about not putting all your eggs in one basket. I'd also be happy with doing banking on mobile IF the 2FA was exclusively handled on the computer (and I never banked on the computer handling 2FA). No matter how good the app is if the app/phone is all your need to sign in then compromise of that single thing will give an attacker access to your banking details.

How about an explanation as to why this the case then?
