No. iPhone 17 Pro for me and Pro Max for my friend. I don’t have a 5G android to test with unfortunately.

I’m seeing SA too. However, 18ms ping and a massive 4mb upload says otherwise.

I appear to be live on 5G SA now as I just made a call over cellular and it didn't drop back to 4G as it usually would, so presumably VoNR is also live.

Just made a call on One NZ with the same device and confirmed that it drops back to 4G when making a call on 5G. So would appear to further confirm my results above.

To the best of my knowledge the iOS Carrier bundle for Spark (https://cupboardunderscore.github.io/ios-rcs/5gsa/) is not configured for 5G SA. You can still show a 5G icon whilst connected to 4G if the network signals as such using ULI, it's possible Spark has changed their ULI behaviour in this regard.

Do you have the 5G Standalone toggle in iOS settings? If so, can you toggle it off for Spark and see if the behaviour changes during a call?

That is not conclusive at all as I can make VoNR voice calls on 5G NSA on One NZ.

Don't believe anything the iOS field test says. That app that frequently reports One NZ has 80 MHz LTE channels among many other bugs...

That wouldn't be a VoNR call, you would be dropping to LTE (only) when you begin the call (EPS Fallback), however you may still see a 5G Icon if the LTE is has ULI set in the signalling (even if your phone has dropped the NR secondary carrier). It's just a VoLTE call at that point.

VoNR requires the call to go through the 5G Core which would require Standalone

And yeah, the iOS FTM reporting doesn't mean much. If it's showing SA then most likely that's just because Spark has a 5G Core, not because you can actually register on it.

Spark has had a 5G core for a long time now, at least for some customers. The only time I've previously seen 5G SA available has been on their Palmerston North test tower some months back. Now it appears to be available Christchurch wide.

Has literally no one here got an Android phone that supports 5G on Spark and able to check for us? Seems implausible.

5G SA is definitely being tested on Spark's network, and I expect much like the initial 5G rollout it will be an unmistakable song and dance once it's available to the public. I don't have any hard dates but I'm certain given their position in the stock market they'll want to let everyone know if they're first to market.

As to if they will be, I don't have any comparative insight.

Still no one with an Android on Spark?
