neb: From that article:Earlier this month, Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) issued fines totalling $151,200 to MMS Australia for alleged unlawful advertising of Miracle Mineral Solution and other medicines.Australia has some really good consumer protection laws, effectively enforced. From reading Consumer, they regularly point out that something like what they're reporting on wouldn't be allowed to happen in Australia. Pity our enforcement isn't as good here...
I seem to remember we were going to unify our regulations on therapeutics with Australia , which might have given us better regulations around sunscreen as well but....
I think that this was torpedoed as part of this deal, from memory.
"Under the Key-led government in 2009, the two parties signed an agreement to work on furthering three key policy areas - home insulation, energy efficiency and regulation of natural health products. "
Its sad that you can't get through to them that good consumer protection should not be contrary to 'Green' principles.
I remember it took consumer testing to expose a "Green" sunscreen that is 1/10th of its protective rating .
