Hibino:[snip]

My phone is capable with VoLTE but is not allow by Spark

This is simply not correct. NZ Telcos do not allow or disallow devices on their networks, other than specific blacklists and TAC locking for some devices.

In respect of VoLTE, it is up to the device to have the settings for the carrier you wish to connect to. This is the carrier profile. It is not that Spark disallows the device, but the device doesn't have the right settings for Spark.

Hibino:

If your phone does not work with Spark, it might worth to borrow a sim of another ISP to give it a try.

My phone is capable with VoLTE but is not allow by Spark(being hear the blah blah message when making a phone call over a month), the voice call was completely dead after 3G is shutdown. Tried change all sorts of settings but no luck.

Yesterday I took the phone out and inserted a 2Degrees sim card, it works perfectly without any tweaking.

I could use my Sony, make calls, internet etc. the only thing that bothered me was the 20sec precall message I had to endure every time I make a call.

That precall message has now completely gone, despite I got a deadlock letter yesterday from One NZ, insisting was mandatory.

Big thanks to the secret person that did whatever to fix it for me.

Again, this is further misinformation in this thread. There is no magic list at any NZ Telco to white list your unsupported device. If your phone manufacturer supplies the correct current carrier config for you phone then it will work (assuming hardware is also compatible of course).

Australia may block devices, but that is not the case here.

Yeah, if you were getting the message but no longer are, it's because One would have removed the message completely, not just for you. The message no longer needs to exist: with 3G gone, anyone who was still hearing it was getting it erroneously.

The message that I was getting was about 111 calls possibly not working, I could still make all other calls just fine on my old xiaomi. Have not had that message on the last call so I consider it solved.

Have you tested you can call 111?

That seems like something you want to know works before you need it to.

I don't have this phone for that purpose.

It seems One has increased their b8 (900mhz) to 10mhz, and I'm seeing my phone use b8 a ton more pretty much everywhere I go especially rurally my phone is camping on it when idle. Wonder when spark is going to do the same with their n5.

Huh. One has 15 MHz of 900. Do you mean they increased it to 10 MHz of n8? ie 5G

Screenshot I took earlier in the year before 3g shutdown, showing 5mhz b8:

Screenshot I took this week, 10mhz:

They use L2600 for Starlink currently, but this has changed at least once so who knows.

Source for this? One NZ D2C is currently using b3 (5 MHz @ 1800MHz) and b7 (15MHz @ 2600 MHz) - as far as I'm aware, the largest allocation used anywhere in the world for D2C - and they are also sharing some of that b7 with Spark now, too. 2degrees' Lynk service, while it hasn't launched yet, is planned to use b8 (10 MHz @ 900 MHz).
