MaxineN:I'm even more concerned that this isn't being told clear cut.
@boosacnoodle Can you please send a DM here on Geekzone of the mobile number? I want to see if it is an actual number in the Voice range
I have seen numbers allocted before that are actual billing numbers like 021000xxx that can't be used for Voice / mobile services

I’ve heard literally nothing from Kiwi Mobile since I became aware that the number was taken.
When I contacted them last night they said a manager was meant to contact me today (unbeknownst to me). It’s nearly 5 PM now, so I live chatted them and the moment I mentioned the account the staff member closed the chat without any explanation.
They sound like an incredibly dodgy outfit.
I'm still a bit unclear about the history of the phone number. Is this an 021 number issued by One, ported to EK, ported back to One, then stolen back by EK? Or was it an 022 number issued by EK, then ported to One before being stolen back by EK?
Something is not adding up here and until I have an idea of the mobile number ported I can't comment further

How often does this sort of thing happen? Is this common, or more of an outlier?

Ramblings from a mysterious lady who's into tech. Warning I may often create zingers.
Both numbers now go into a disconnected state, so I wonder if they may be coming back to me?
I would hope (actually, expect) after all this mess is sorted out some compensation comes your way as well!
@boosacnoodle Well you have 110% ignored my message

@quickymart It was not that common but it did happen and faults would be logged for issues like no incoming voice calls / SMS etc and take one look at the number / MSISDN and say like WT Heck!!
I am now in deadlock - neither One NZ nor Kiwi Mobile / 2degrees wholesale will respond any longer.
TDR has let me know that they are going to be proceeding to the formal stage.
Can someone confirm, is it an 021 number originally issued by One or an 022 number originally issued by EK? I am just curious.
