So, I guess One NZ are probably powerless to do anything based on that number effectively being the 'property' of 2degrees? Obviously it doesn't change the fact that this incident is a misuse of the porting system, but I get the feeling that TDR intervention is the only thing that is going to resolve this. It's becoming pretty clear that EK are burying their heads in the sand and hoping the OP gives up and goes away.

I did eventually hear back from a KM customer services manager. Apparently they only have about 6 staff. The person who called me could see the port out but not the port back in through IPMS. This suggests, and One NZ seemingly confirmed, it was in fact actually 2degrees porting the number back.

When I emailed Jason Paris (again), I got a prompt callback (without 15 minutes or so) from a surprisingly rude staff member who said that as it’s not their number there was nothing more they could do and he basically hung up on me.

I have not heard further from TDR.

Wow, definitely some customer service skills lacking from (almost) everyone involved at the mobile providers here 😮

TDR reached deadlock. KM completed a full investigation and noted their communication could have been better. I won't be getting the numbers back, it seems.

So what was the reason the numbers were just taken off you like that? Surely you were given a good explanation?

If not, this sounds like something you'd want to be speaking to media about to be honest...

And some sort of compensation, at minimum.

Also, 6 staff? Get outta here.

>After a week of headache getting my number across, now all my text messages seem to be doubling up when I am sending a text.

That sounds like a very specific bug on iPhones I used to see. Wonder if they have their number set correct in their handset.

When you don't have to run the network and you're just a reseller... you don't need a lot of staff unless something goes horribly wrong but then you work with your reseller.
