Ok lets take this real slow as I have little idea what I am talking about

So some how or other I came across this article

Article

Using  3g usb modem to make a voice call?

I use a great bit of software called SMS control Centre

Simply it allows me to have my mobile connected to my computer and form my computer type a SMS message that gets sent through my mobile. Then it picks up any replies and shows them on screen.

So the question

Can I get a a usb stick modem that takes a sim card plug it into my computer and it will act in a similar fashion to connecting a mobile phone?

If so can you point me to a device that is suitable?

Does anyone use this system?
