"David Shafer, Executive Director of Kogan.com, said Kogan is delighted to be partnering with Vodafone New Zealand to bring the benefits of Kogan Mobile to New Zealand.

 

Vodafone Consumer Director Matt Williams said the company was partnering with Kogan.com to deliver even greater competition in the New Zealand market."

Well they bought the name and the customer database. I wouldn't say they took over, they don't have any bricks and mortar shops like Dick Smith had. I doubt the Dick Smith staff would see it as a take over, they don't have jobs any more.
