Just noticed that on my wife's phone (Xperia X Performance dual sim unlocked) when calling WB's 0800 number as well as my phone (Pixel 3A) there is an HD icon.

Does it mean there is HD Voice?

I am sure HD voice calling is on-net only

If its an HD icon then more likely to be VoLTE? (assuming the handset doesn't know what codec to use when in standby)

2degrees has not launched VoLTE and when they do RCG / RBI2 sites only

Do you know whether this is the long term plan to restrict VoLTE to these sites or if they plan to offer that across their wider LTE network?

I think Sony handsets have a separate VoLTE on the menu bar when it's available. In this case I dont think it is.

That is to be expected. Hopefully this applies to 2degress numbers too.

@KiwiSurfer Yes VoLTE will go network wide over time as I understand but on launch RCG sites only for VoLTE but it looks like 3G / WCDMA is going to be added to the RCG sites now for CSFB
