Not sure where this post belongs, but anyway

I have a Vodafone prepay and have had it for donkeys years (and theres quite a bit of credit on it as i am an unsociable person), I now need to transfer that particular number to Warehouse mobile

But also I need a second Vodafone phone number.

So can i attach a new phone number to my existing Vodafone prepay account keeping the credit, and then transfer the old number to warehouse Mobile?

Cheers

Doubt it since credit is attached to the number not the account.
Have you chatted with Vodafone? Unless they have a special/manual process for this via the call centre.

I don't see why it wouldn't be a problem, unless it was a system block or something?

When I was at 2degrees I'd done this a number of times. It wasn't something that was prohibited, but it wasn't something they encouraged either. Usually we'd try to get them to do send the credit to a family/friend instead.
The times I did it I'd get the customer to get a new 2degrees prepaid SIM from a store first, then we'd simply change the number on the original SIM and issue a new 022 number, that'd then release the ported-in number.
We'd then go into the new SIMs account and change it's number to that newly freed up ported-in number. Took maybe 10mins to complete at most. Just had to be careful to grab the right numbers etc .

End result is customers original SIM has a new number, and new SIM has their old number ready for a port-out.
We couldn't get them to portout the number while attached to the original SIM as it would get closed during the port-out of course, so putting it on a new SIM would do the trick. Just wastes a few dollars but SIMs are dirt cheap now, unlike way back in the day when they were over $30 each.
