Hi All,

Can someone recommend a brand of Android phone that displays the carrier name in the top status bar (like some older models of iPhone)?

This is a personal preference but also useful as I do travel overseas frequently (roaming purposes)

I have seen Huawei phones have this option but other android handsets don't? Are there any others that do?

Many thanks,

My Xioami Mi Note 7 shows the carriers of both SIMs in the top left corner when the phone is locked (e.g. it currently shows Skinny | vodafone NZ in locked mode). I'm supposing you want one that shows it all the time though?

Most phones running Android 9 or 10 will have a display option "Display carrier name".

Huawei does have it.

My Samsung S10 running Android 10 with One UI doesn’t appear to have an option in settings to allow its display. However, from memory, when I’m roaming in Oz, it does show the roaming symbol and the carrier (ie OptusAU, etc). Although, due current circumstances, I haven’t been to Oz for a bit, so my mind may be playing tricks!

As an aside, I built a widget using Zooper that displays all my connection data. Although I think that particular App is discontinued, there are other widget building apps that do the same thing.

Thanks everyone, it would appear it may be specific brand related. Its not absolutely critical for me but I would prefer it to show.

When I first got my phone I had an app installed called "Phono" (from memory), that displayed the Vodafone logo in the corner. Might not be quite what you're looking for, but worth a try.
