Hi

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I was wondering if it is possible to have both ADSL and RBI in my house at the same time?

I live on a rural property and currently have ADSL2 but my house has previously had RBI set up in it (antenna is still on the roof)

I'm interested in the RBI for myself and keeping the ADSL for everyone else in the household (4 adults + children)

Yes totally possible.

you can do a really basic setup of just having two modems.

When i lived rurally, before a quality WISP came to the area; i had multiple connections in quite a complex setup to manage the load. I wouldn't recommend that sort of setup unless your able to look after it though :)

Yip, Running a common internal network would be hard, but If the OP is happy to have 2 local networks with one being a separate Wifi one, it shouldn't be too hard... ( which they seem to be indicating they want to do)

Yep I'm just after 2 local networks. I do a bit of gaming online and I was thinking of the RBI for that and ADSL for any downloads for myself and wifi for everyone else in the house. If I go solely RBI we would blow through 200gb no problem. I live 5 mins out of Taupo. Our property is connected to a VDSL cabinet but our line length is too long for it to sync. RBI is my only other option as there are no WISPs here that I am aware of.

Yes you can have DSL and RBI at the same time. Simply make sure the wifi channel is set differently on each of the two routers. 1,6 or 11 are channels you can select that dont interfere with each other.
