Hey everyone - could someone from a telco advise if there are 12 digit mobile lengths coming in now

We are getting customers adding their 12 digit mobiles under 027,021,022,020 on their accounts

But under https://www.nad.org.nz/number-register/ and https://www.nad.org.nz/assets/Deed-and-Rules/NAD-Rules-v7.0.pdf and https://www.tnzi.com/numbering-plan they dont mention it

Could you supply a document that shows the 12 digit length now

Thanks

VodafoneNZ is opening up the last possible number range now but this range number length has been around for years

02109xxxxxx same length as 02108

I looked after MSISDN ranges on the technology side for about 8 years

Edit: I should make it clear last range in 021 they do have other ranges like 029 and 028 they can use

But it seems either the NAD has not updated their rules, or Vodafone is in breach of the NAD.

@r0bbie They do mention it on https://www.tnzi.com/numbering-plan

Mobiles/pagers: 2-digit code plus 6-, 7- or 8-digit numbers

I'm not aware of any 12 digit number ranges (ie 3 digit network code + 9 digit phone number)

A few examples we have from our customers is 12 digits not including the +64

02110XXXXXXX
02102XXXXXXX
02108XXXXXXX

The reason that this came up is our CRM software (not pabx) is not dialing those because of the length and the vendor came back saying the standard is only

3 digit network code + 8 digit phone number not 3 digit network code + 9 digit phone number

Can you give an example of a new 12 digit number?

Is it in the 02109 range?

Edit: see you have posted sorry

it's not possible for 02110XXXXXXX to be 12 digits as that range was opened years ago and fully used up

02110xxxxx

If VodafoneNZ have gone 12 digits what a disaster and a mess this will be! I remember the mess with routing and 11 digits

They're all invalid numbers from what I can see

021 10xxxxx is valid

021 02xxxxxx is valid

021 08xxxxxx is valid

Not all of the 021 09xxxxxx is open up yet so that could of given VodafoneNZ the chance to make part of the range 12 digits

These ranges have been open for years

021 10xxxxx is valid

021 02xxxxxx is valid

021 08xxxxxx is valid

If we try calling the 12 digit number, it rings

Does that mean its calling the 1st 11 digits and the 12th one is redundant in the call?

Normally yes, just like all 0800 / 0508 numbers are +6, but people seem intent on adding digits to the end (0800 358 5453)

@ibuksh The switch will drop the last digit/s you could dial 15 digits
