Hi all,

I was driving down the main road in Hastings and noticed a new cell site being installed. Any idea which provider. Is there any major differences visually?

I have looked already. It doesn’t exist on the map

All of the three providers have sites very close to this location already (spark is on the hospital, Vodafone is next to the fire station and 2degrees is just down the road also)

See if you can spot the operators name on the equipment cabinets.

There are many possibilities. Perhaps that particular location has a lot of traffic needing another site to reduce pressure off exisiting sites. Perhaps it is replacing another site (e.g. property renovations needing a cell site to be relocated).

Given all the new sites Spark has built in the last year or so I'd put some of my money on Spark being a possibility. They have also been relocating several sites lately as well.

You might like to have a look at my photo gallery of cell sites in NZ:

Do let us know which operator it ends up being!

Looks like they have been upgrading it over the last few days.
