Heya, my family live in a lifestyle block in Waimauku just outside of Auckland. Their adsl was very average (5mbit down and not super stable) so I signed them up to wireless nation rbi. There's 4 of them in the house and they do a fair amount of zoom calls etc so they're on the 200gb peak time and unlimited off peak data for an eye watering $185/month. I also installed 2 antennas.
The issue is the peak time speeds which are turning awful and really a disgrace given how much they pay.
Peak time speeds are about 1-4mbit/sec, offpeak can be anywhere upto 50mbit as they have 4 bars of coverage and have almost direct LOS to the tower. Previously peak speeds were about 20mbit which was great.
I completely understand the finite bandwidth and shared resources in wireless Internet. I was wanting to hear your thoughts on anything I could do / is there any value in talking to wireless nation, even though they are just a reseller for the Vodafone rbi product (?). Or am I just going to be wasting my time?
Cheers
