Hi all,
I'd like to get a personalised mobile number based on a set of characters. The number should end with 2xxxxxx, e.g. 0212xxxxxx or 0222xxxxxx. I've tried calling several variations of the number and found that the 021 and 022 versions of the number are not in use. I haven't yet checked with Vodafone, but 2degrees told me they could not allocate the number to me but wouldn't give me a reason. I'm happy to sign up with any operator that has the number available, but I'm wondering what other options there? Here's what I've tried so far:
- 0212xxxxxx - not in use. Edit: I rang Vodafone and they told me this is a prepay number already allocated.
- 0222xxxxxx - not in use but 2degress won't assign it to me (nor explain why they won't)
- 0272xxxxxx - already taken
- 0202xxxxxx - I think this used to be Orcon but is now owned by Skinny, but Skinny say they can't allocate it to me.
Are there any other prefixes that I can try to sign up with? Also, anyone know why an operator would not want to allocate a specific number? There aren't any obvious patterns in the number, it's just based on a name.
Cheers
Stuart
