My daughter ported to Kogan from Skinny recently and has nothing but problems since.

She has a OnePlus 6T, has switched the sims, set the call, sms and data defaults to the Kogan sim and has updated both the data and sms APN's.

The issue now is she only appears to receive SMS from people on VF. I can text her with my Kogan sim, but not my Skinny sim. Same with two of her friends, one who is on VF one on Spark.

Is there something else she should be setting up or checking ?

Not related to the handset sounds like a porting fault

No such thing as a SMS APN

Contact Kogan support and they will need to contact the LSP (losing service provider) they will also need to check the port has completed OK as well on the Kogan side

Sorry, was the MMS APN. I tried with Kogan support yesterday and they just put me on to a web page with the APN info.

I'll try them again tomorrow.

MMS APN is zero related to SMS who pointed you to muck around with APNs for a SMS issue?

Going through it all again with them now.

 

Same story, try another phone, update the APN's, blah blah.

 

They tell me the port was successfull.

Tell them APNs has zero to do with SMS!

 

Kogan need to raise the issue with the porting team, Just cause port says it is complete does not mean it completed with no errors!

 

I worked for VodafoneNZ 17+ years and saw complete many times but when you looked into it further issues had happened
