About 10.40am today, about 8 of the 20 Zenbu zones on Rarotonga went down and are still off-line at 12.25am     The ones that are down are distributed around Rarotonga so it is perhaps local electricity supplies.  Two in Avarua are off-line so Avarua might not have electricity or perhaps broadband.

There have been thunderstorms so it is presumably related to that and the impact on particular localities rather than a general problem.

The map of zones at http://www.Zenbu.net.nz is updated every half hour or so.  Type Rarotonga in the search box to go straight to the satellite view.

Meanwhile, in Christchurch, about half the Zenbu sites are still down in the central, north of central and eastern areas.   The map of zones shows the affected sites and areas.

Cook Islands has been back online since about 2pm NZ time.   Advice from Avarua [The Computer Man] was that it was some Telecom glitch of unknown cause.
