Just wondered, whats the record for the most ported number in NZ? I rekon mine would be pretty close now.

So I ported my 021 to Black + White, and during my service with them I ended up with a new 028 number.
Ported that 028 number to Vodafone. Got sick of topping up.
Ported that 028 number to Orcon. Got sick of over-usage.
Ported that 028 number to Vodafone. Got sick of low data caps.
Ported that 028 number to Telecom XT (this weekend). Whats going to make me leave this time? ;)

So clearly Vodafone is the winner in this but still, that's mainly down to most of Auckland being connected with Vodafone so its awkward to not be with them.

Im not sure if I'll be on XT much longer, haha, since that $20 extra bundle I have gives me 1000 texts, 200MB data, and 20mins calling. 1000txts isn't going to be enough, so I'll have to buy Text Anyone 2500 for $12, so my monthly spend is now at $32/month, where as with vodafone it was $20/month, but I only got 50MB data, 2500 texts, and 100 weekend minutes.

I want to stay with Telecom because the speeds are amazing, so I need to find a way to topup $32/month. Lol. Anyone can help me with that? Sorry for going off  topic.

So whats the most ported number in NZ anyway? No doubt there is someone with itchier feet than me. Haha

you can top up any custom amount of $ via the telecom online portal either through logging onto the website via a pc/laptop or via the browser on your smartphone and going to http://sphone.telecom.co.nz

best and easiest way is to do via the smartphone borwser as you are automatically logged in and can top up via credit card or voucher as well.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Why is this in the B+W forum? Did you want a lot of attention?
It's almost like they should close this part of the forum...

Have you looked at Vodafone's $45 smart plan, 100 minutes to any landline or mobile, 2500 texts to any network, free voice mail calls, and 250m data, but for 6 months its 1Gb data. I agree though that Telecom's data speeds are much faster, if they were to match the Vodafone plan I would be across in a heartbeat.

My exact reasoning.

[edit] and the fact that the 028 number was from B+W in the first place.

may i suggest 2Degrees?
1GB of data and $10 text plan is great for me and my smart phone, and when i do need to call its 22c/m for landlines and 44c/m for mobiles, score.

Why not 2degs... simply because you haven't tried them yet

I used them for Mobile Broadband when I went on holiday to Christchurch earlier this year. Experience was more than great and I'd happily do it again. If their value is better than telecom I may switch. But my phone is a Telecom phone so I get better 3G coverage on their network than with this phone on 2deg.
