We are a company with about 20 odd staff. Up until recently we have run an Asterisk box with a couple of primary rate ISDN's provided by TelstraClear. This system has not being without it hassles - but on the whole it has worked well. Recently we moved premises and decided to do away with the ISDN's and connect directly to a SIP provider across our TelstraClear fibre connection (10 meg both ways).
After many, many frustrating hours speaking with the various telcos we failed to find a single company that would provide a commercial level SIP solution. We were running out of time and so decided to take the plunge and so signed up for 10 iTalk accounts and also a Conversant account as a backup. We also approached SIPserve but couldn't even manage to get a response out of them to buy something (so I don't know how there customers get on when they have a support issue).
That was the start of our nightmares. To keep a long story short we have had no end of problems since that point with iTalk and Conversant going down on a regular basis and many varied other issues. This has usually been followed by a period of sitting 'on hold' for many hours only to be told - "Sorry - there is nothing we can do ... you will just have to wait 2/4/6/8/24/48 hours until its fixed".
So my question is simply this. Are there any VoIP providers in NZ that can provide a decent commercial SIP or IAX solution to a business that is willing to pay decent money for the service? Or ... should we be giving up and just going back to an Asterisk/ISDN solution?
Cheers
