Only probs I have had with 2talk have running out of credit and having at inoppertune times. Dont like leaving heaps on it, and if I end up on a long call.... well...

One thing I couldn't really tell from reading up on 2talks site, can you add a local number to 2talk go free or only to 2talk 500?

I cannot check from here, but I think you get an 028 on the free plan, and a local DDI on the minute included plans. You can put a local number onto the free plan, at a cost of $7/month

2talk go free + local number would be ideal plan for me at home, we barely ever use the land line apart from family calling us on the local number occasionally.

I could see why they might not allow a local number on the go free plan, if they do allow it I could get away with $7/month (2talk Go Free + local number) instead of $22/month (2talk 500 + local number) for a "landline" at home which finally makes naked DSL much more attractive than pots + adsl.

Like I said ragnor, you can add your existing POTS number to the free plan for only $7/month. It just does not come with one, thats all.

I am on the telstra clear Internet only plan, and have been using 2talk exclusively for the last few months and it has been working great once I got a minor configuration problem sorted with my Linksys PAP2.

On any of the plans you can get an extra local number for $7/month. You can either get an existing one ported over (for around $20 from memory) or they can just assign you a new one.

How far away from the exchange are you? Have you canceled the standard land line? Personally I feel that naked DSL is the only way to get "cheap" Phone/internet combination.
I'm still shy of going naked dsl/2talk. Might would help if I knew someone else in my region.

I am actually on Telstra cable, so it is a slightly different issue. I did however try out 2talk for a few months beforehand, just using the free package and found that it works well. I do know other people who use 2talk using the naked dsl and they report that it works fine with no issues. What region are you in? I am in Christchurch and am happy to help out if you are in the region.
