coffeebaron: Get a Draytek!
Or a router than can run the Tomato/FreeWRT/DD-WRT etc firmwares. I've been using a Buffalo G54S running Tomato for the past couple of years and it's the most stable router I've ever owned (and it only cost AU$50).

Do you disable routing/firewall on your modem and put a router in front of the modem ?
hads: Also a good option. I use both a Draytek modem and a WRT54GL running OpenWRT myself.
hads: Yes, I use PPPoA to PPPoE relay on the Draytek (great feature) and the PPPoE auth on the OpenWRT box (also use pfSense) to get the public IP.

I use a Draytel with pfSense behind it elsewhere.
Time to find a new industry!

Half bridge more is more of a hack.
raynz: I am using a Gigset S685 IP off a Linksys WAG160Nv2 router with no issues. Works a treat!
