hahahahaha an enlightening response after letting everyone know... mmm is it a tin pot operation up there? I don't think Telecom had a problem last night...
Strange that my Nagios tells me it's down and up probably before they even know!
hehe :) Came online at 8:00am, cause thats when everyone gets into the office :) Probably the Plus server wasnt on a UPS, or its not configured to start up on power resumption. Someone rushed in and pushed a power button :)
You fellas do understand that 2talk don't actually have any real network just some Asterisk servers, and that they sit behind callplus for all their network connectivity, that would not likely to change when malcolm dick own both companies
All 2talk services should now be back up and online. Unfortunately a Layer-2 issue related to the power outage last night meant there were issues on 2talk+ for some customers related to load balancing issues. Please do note that 2talk+ is still in BETA at this stage but we are committed to making this the default/production service in the near future. The network issues this morning on 2talk+ are now fully understood and a fix will be in place to avoid this reoccurring.
To correct Maverick - 2talk does have it's own network and AS number/address space and in the near future we will be moving to our own peering and interconnects over our own Dark Fibre across Auckland so our IP network will be completely independent of CallPlus' including connectivity to the APE, Domestic transit and International peering. We will however continue to work with our upstream carriers including CallPlus for some IP and voice services.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused due to the power failures - it happens to us all at some point (and happened to WXC if I remember rightly a couple of years ago Maverick?).
Please contact 2talk support if you have any further issues.
Regards, Ray @ 2talk
PS. 2talk will continue to be proud champions of open source technologies.
