At present I have a hylaFAX setup in a stand alone box faxing through a supported Linksys device.

I was interested to see if I can decomission this and use the free fax for asterisk.  I got a free license from Digium, and installed it, but can't send a fax successfully.  Get an error with call ended prematurely.

Anyone got this working?

I used to use it but its not that reliable, especially for incoming.

It's a great product that works exceptionally well for incoming. I don't use it for outgoing since I don't have a need.

I haven't tried inbound fax .. since I already have virtual fax numbers with 2talk and VFX.  But I have read the same, it is said to be very reliable for inbound fax.

I would have thought that if one can send to VFX, it should always work since they would be decoding and sending the fax out on analogue lines?

Just tested inbound faxing and that works.  So, issue remains with outbound only so far.
