Does anyone know how to get both ports working on my box
my problem is that put 1 works fine, port 2 can only call out, i am unable to receive calls, or see any numbers on my caller display,
would this be a software fault or a hardware fault?
Any suggestion are welcome.

Currently all calls are on diversion to line 1 at the moment so this suggestion is not need.

Do you have two separate numbers. One for each port??

I think 2Talk will allow multiple calls to the same number but not sure about the others..

They are 2 separate numbers. its just a pain having everything going to one phone for now, but its better than missing a phonecall

who is the provider , what's your router , did you provision this your self or did it auto provision, most likely you will have the second line SIP port set as the same as port 1 5060, make sure Port 2 has 5061, you may need to do a port forward as well from your router....

Ned a bit more info on your setup though...

did you provision this yourself ?
what is the router in front of the PAP2T ?

Best bet though is to ring 2Talk they are your provider so should be the best ones to sort your issues while your on the phone to them..

If you're using G.729 you can only have a single concurrent call with a PAP2T. They are very much a relic these days.

You need to syslog off the box then to see what's happening, but you still havnt said yet as to if you used their auto provisioning and what router you are using.

What are the sip ports for line 1 & 2 ?

So you mean the OP will need a syslog server to catch the syslog events from the ATA?

If that's the case, can you suggest a windows syslog server that could do this as I doubt he'll be running a linux box locally.

I also wonder if he's on the 2talk10 plan that only allows 1 concurrent call?

yes Don

http://3cdaemon.updatestar.com/   this is a great little program used it for years, even though its pretty old its very very handy

Cant help you with other question, not my area sorry.
You need to find what is happening on line 2, really 2talk should have been able to tell , the question they need to ask are

1. Are both lines registered
If No then there is your problem
If Yes then what port is line 2 registered on ?

From those questions should be pretty straight forward and I as I said in the first post it will be the port being used on line 2 (5060) or port 5061 not being passed through to the ATA, haven't seen this problem before as an answer is not right this is pretty much standard faults with ATA's behind routers, but really with out the answers to my questions I cant help much past that.

Also Don are you not you a 2talk dealer surely you can solve this for him on 2talks behalf Wink

I suspect this may be very relevant as you may have to set up manual port forwarding.

I am on the 2talk20 plan. I have used auto provisioning. I can ring calls out on line 2 but I can not receive calls on line 2. There is no problem with line 1.  I have done all the fault testing before I raise this forum as I could not get the problem fixed.

both ports are being used for voice communication. if you ring me now on line one it will ring but if you ring line two number if ring on your end but doesn't ring on my end. on the other hand, i can ring out on that line and it does also register as being online thats why i'm asking for help.
