My PAP2T is in its dying throws (or at least I suspect it is as it has developed a bit of a buzz on both lines)

I'm looking at the spa112 as a replacement.
I lodged a support query with 2talk to see if their autoprovisioning for the spa122 would work with the 112.
They responded that it would but recommended against purchasing a 112 or 122 at this stage due to some firmware problems - and recommended I go with the older spa2102

Can anyone confirm what the firmware bugs are and what problems they are likely to cause me?

Do you agree with 2talks recommendation?

If you were interested in fixing the PAP2T, you may find it's just the power supply dying - they seem to have a habit of it.

Thanks. I've already tested an alternative power supply but unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue.
The unit is getting on in years - about five or six.

There's a new firmware for the SPA112/SPA122 due in a week or two which fixes major issues. Contact me through http://nicegear.co.nz and I can sort you out with the release candidate.

Thanks - I was actually looking at purchasing the unit from your site as you have a pretty good price.
Maybe some time next week. Smile

The SIPURA SPA2102 is my favourite of all my ATA I own, unfortunately I do not own neither have a played with a CISCO SAP 112/122.
I was interested to see what was so special about the new versions over the getting old in the tooth 2102 model.

The datasheet on Cisco site found here, I was hoping it would shed light oin the difference and educate me, but...

"SIP support in Network Address Translation (NAT) networks (including Serial Tunnel [STUN])"

Cisco should stick to layer 2 & 3 products Laughing
I miss Sipura.

Voice quality on the SPA1xx is noticeably better than the older hardware, esp G729 codec which works better for 3G connection. I long stopped installing these older ATA since the WRP400 came along.

Does this mean you'd recommend a WRP400 over using an SPA112?

Do you know if there a NZ provisioning profile available for the WRP400 like the Linksys SPA modules.
