The 2talk website states "You can choose to forward your calls to an existing number or register your international number on any SIP device."

Does this mean I wouldn’t pay for calls to be transferred from a UK 2talk global number to a 2talk NZ number (as 2talk-2talk is free) so I just have one phone attached to my ATA to receive calls from both NZ and UK - without paying international rates?  If I got the calls forwarded to my mobile, would I be paying international cal charges or just ‘local’ mobile rates?

Thanks

Andy

Correct.

I have 2x NZ numbers and an AU number.

Both the NZ numbers are forwarded to the AU number, and because they are all 2talk numbers the forwarding is free.

During business hours, the calls are also set to ring on my phone at work, and I only pay a local call charge (No free local calls in AU) even for calls from NZ.

Thanks for the answer.

If you have an overseas ‘global number’ does that mean you can make calls in that area from your ‘local’ minutes or do they still come from country minutes?

Cheers

They come from country minutes. Local minutes are only for NZ where you have a local DDI. I have the $10 plan which gives me about 2000 local minutes plus I think 250 country minutes.

I can confirm this.  I have same - 2 NZ numbers and 1 OZ, all calls to/from Oz numbers are against country minutes.  No big deal.  2 talk took AGES to transfer to VOIP number from Oz to NZ, but since its worked fine.
