Hi My SPA2102 died today.. so I need to get a new adaptor.. is the SPA122 any good?
Are there any other options?

what happened to the 2102?
They have a history of power adapters dying which takes down the unit or causes noise problems among other things so it might be worth checking that out first.
Other than that the 122s are fine

edit: might be worth considering the 112 if you don't need the router functionality of the ata.

The system just resets over & over... I have tried a different power supply but no change

SPA112 is all you need.

The routing in spa122 is very limited in terms of throughput.

You mentioned the word budget so the PAP2T comes to mind, have been using two of them for years and years now without a problem. Obviously no router built in.

I would like to upgrade to Draytek 2130 VN.. but NZ Price is prohibitive compared to Aussie

Well the low end Cisco stuff is not made by Cisco at all, believe it's something like Sipura which you hear when you dial **** from a handset.

If you get a draytek, get one of the Linux based ones, very configurable if you like to tinker

there's almost no price difference between a new pap2t and a new spa112 so better to go for the newer model.

Although, like you I have been using a pap2t for years without problem.

I picked up both of mine from Trademe (xnet vfx model), $80 or so each. Not something i felt needed to be bought brand new (and i was being cheap)

Point taken :) Guess they are a little more mainstream 6 years on...

For what it's worth they are $55-60 on TM :D

FWIW I did some casual tests on the SPA122 routing throughput a while ago.

With NAT turned on, it would top out at about 26-30 Mb/s.

With NAT turned off, it would happily manage full line speed (100Mb/s).
