Just a quick question.... Has anyone tried to make BLF's work with phones registered directly to 2Talk?

I am just testing this out with a couple of SPA504G's.
I have used a similar approach to doing this as you would do it with Asterisk.
The phones have their 'extension' registered as line 1 they have their line appearance set as 'shared'. Problem is that won't register properly with 2Talk. When put back to private they are good as gold.
Other setting is the 'Line Key Extended function' for the keys I want to use for BLF's, I have entered the following in to them...
fnc=blf+cp;sub=028255XXXXX@27.111.14.65
Just doesn't seem to work....
Have also tried
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=028255XXXXX@27.111.14.65;ext=028255XXXXX@27.111.14.65
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=028255XXXXX@27.111.14.65;usr=028255XXXXX@27.111.14.65

Can anyone tell me other options are available to put in the function keys? Is it possible that I need to send a password? Or should it just poll the 2Talk proxy to see what that lines is doing regardless?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers,
Sam

I'd like to be able to do this with SPA303 on an Asterisk box but seemed to have failed so far.

I'd be surprised if this is possible. There are significant security risks allowing any device to see the status of any other device simply by knowing the number!

On Asterisk it's dead simple and there is nothing to configure as hints are automatically generated.

Yea I wondered if that would be the case. Was wondering if any authentication sort of thing could be used in the 'fnc' option.

Is there any proper documentation of what can be used in the function keys? It is easy to find the basics but would be really good to actually know what is possible with the keys. I remember seeing somehting about the XML provisioning once upon a time but not sure what they had in it. Will have to have a look.

This is so so much easier with a proper PABX that auto configures everything....

There is a massive amount of documentation on the Cisco site for these phones. Provisioning guides, XML samples etc.

BLF only uses SIP SUBSCRIBE - it's nothing to do with a  SIP REGISTER.

Submitted a ticket to 2Talk and asked the question.

Completely different to running it on Asterisk though -  If you can't make it work on that you're simply doing something wrong.
