We have recently set up a client with a 2Talk account and a 3CX server. At the end of the work day, the client currently hits a speed dial on their phone to enable 2Talk's Call Forwarding to their cell. However, they are now wanting to occasionally enable the call forwarding when they are out of the office and the internal speed dial is not immediately available to them.

This is a feature they used to have with their Telecom business landline - they would call a number, enter the cell phone they wanted all calls diverted to and hang up. Does 2Talk offer a similar feature?

Why are you not doing this in the PBX? I haven't used 3CX for a long time (and personally don't like it as a product) but I would assume it has the ability to do a SIP302 redirect.

I do know that using Asterisk it's pretty basic stuff.

I would suggest getting your customer to put a softphone on their cell. Whether it be the 2talk connect app or the 3CX softphone would be up to how the 3CX system is set up. Does the customer have their own DDI or do they just want transferred calls going to their cell?
If they have a DDI then the 2talk softphone would be easiest. For the latter you obviously need the 3CX softphone.

In terms of caller ID being forwarded through... if 3CX does the forward you will not get the A-party CID forwarded through to the C-party. This is because a simple trunk-to-trunk dial occurs and even if 3CX does the 302 redirect 2talk wont let you present a CID you dont own, as per the NAD.
If you want CID to be forwarded properly you must use the 2talk call forward.

I'd be surprised if 2talk didn't present A party ANI/CID on a SIP302 redirect - this is how things should work.

Thanks for the responses. 3CX's SIP302 redirect was not enough for this particular client as they needed to identify the CID on the incoming calls. A redirect via 3CX will only present the client's office number as the CID.

However, I may have a work around. Using an unpublished number supplied by 2talk, we can set up a digital receptionist in 3CX that dials 2talk's redirect code and the cell number.

SIP302 will send the A party CID - it's basically forwarding a call saying "I'm not here but you can contact me here". The scenario you're wanting is exactly what a SIP302 redirect is designed for, since a VoIP provider won't let you effectively spoof a CID that's not yours.

If you're not seeing that either a) 3CX SIP 302 is broken or b) 2talk SIP 302 is broken c) you've got things configured incorrectly

Doing a call forward on my Cisco SPA303 does the same- presents the 2talk number dialled as the CID instead of the calling number.  So yes, I assume 2talk is the broken one.

OP, what you can do is enable SMS management on the account, then you can send a text message to 2825 saying "cfa <number>" to forward all calls to the number provided and "cfa off" to disable afterward.

2Talk definately will send the A party CID when you do a call forward on their platform.
Maybe you need to look at your vertical service codes.

Yes, on their platform.  The OP was talking about SIP 302 redirection, where 2talk does not seem to send the A party CID.
