Updating Dell Dimension DE051 desktop from Wins XP to Wins 7. Upgrade advisor says Digital Line Detect may experience issues using Wins 7. We are using VOIP with WxC - have the AudioCodes MP-264 router. Do we need this Digital Line Detect? I think it is something installed by Dell. We use this computer only at home. Appreciate your views. Thanks.
All the VoIP stuff is sorted out on the MP-264. No PC software is required.
The 'Digital Line Detect' sounds like something to do with the built in dial-up modem. Apparently it detects the voltage of a digital line and compensates accordingly - I guess they are meaning ISDN.
