I am using X-Lite and it works well on Vista. I have my machine behind a router, I don't have any port forwarding, and I have another two SIP phones on this same network...

Try X-Lite. And if can't connect, check SIP Proxy, user name, password again.

Another popular option (for various devices) is SJPhone. Not as nice as interface as X-Lite and not officially Vista compatible, but it seems to work OK.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

I have been using the SIP gadget that sits on the sidebar. Works quite well.
