I'm wondering if anyone knows of any cheap voip providers where my call to a national NZ number doesn't have to get routed to America before it comes back to NZ??

MyNetFone, Faktortel, bbgglobal (via Oz), VFX, iTalk (both via NZ). The list goes on.. I've just used the providers I've used and VFX which is the best example in NZ.

I use iTalk (physical phone) and 2talk (Nokia N95)

italk is old now and not very featured but still works kind of, i'll probably be cancelling this shortly.

2talk has every feature known under the sun but the billing a a pain in the @$$

VFX is great, problem is they only support/allow the use of their own hardware which is a big downer for me.

as for where the calls are routed, i'm not sure but I'd assume they are NZ based for the majority.

Yeah I already new about VFX it did capture my attention actually but there is still a per minute charge for calls which is a shame not a set rate like the US Providers. I think I will try VFX its getting alot of good feed back. Currently got a VOIP PABX System from work that we took out of the System so it be cool to hook it all up.
