hey guys
I've built a simple voip network at home, using trixbox.
The network works internally (i can call from phones to computers and vice versa) but i can't make outbound or receive inbound calls.  I'm using linksys SPA3102 as the voice gateway.. not to sure on how to setup the trunk, dial plans, inbound/outbound dial plans on the astrix setup menu tho..

I followed the instructions on trixbox without tears (instructions manual available on the net) but with out success...

if anyone got it sorted in here, please help...

thanks

It's a bit daunting for a first time user to set up but isn't actually that difficult.

Have a look at the guide at nerdvettles http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=65 which has the instructions for a SPA3000. This is a similair (but older) model.

You'll probably also want your phone dialtone to sound the same as a NZ phone so try the following

Call Progress Tones

Dial Tone: 400@-9;30(*/0/1)
Second Dial Tone: 420@-19,520@-19;10(*/0/1+2)
Outside Dial Tone: 420@-16;10(*/0/1)
Prompt Tone: 520@-19,620@-19;10(*/0/1+2)
Busy Tone: 400@-9;*(.5/.5/1)
Reorder Tone: 400@-9;15(.25/.25/1+2)
Off Hook Warning Tone: 400@-10,680@0;*(.125/.125/1+2)
Ring Back Tone: 400@-19,450@-19;*(.4/.2/1+2,.4/.2/1+2,2/0/0)
Confirm Tone: 600@-16;1(.25/.25/1)
SIT1 Tone: 985@-16,1428@-16,1777@-16;20(.380/0/1,.380/0/2,.380/0/3,0/4/0)
SIT2 Tone: 914@-16,1371@-16,1777@-16;20(.274/0/1,.274/0/2,.380/0/3,0/4/0)
SIT3 Tone: 914@-16,1371@-16,1777@-16;20(.380/0/1,.380/0/2,.380/0/3,0/4/0)
SIT4 Tone: 985@-16,1371@-16,1777@-16;20(.380/0/1,.274/0/2,.380/0/3,0/4/0)
MWI Dial Tone: 400@-19;2(.1/.1/1);28(*/0/1)
Cfwd Dial Tone: 350@-19,440@-19;2(.2/.2/1+2);10(*/0/1+2)
Holding Tone: 600@-19;*(.1/.1/1,.1/.1/1,.1/9.5/1)
Conference Tone: 350@-19;20(.1/.1/1,.1/9.7/1)
Secure Call Indication Tone: 397@-19,507@-19;15(0/2/0,.2/.1/1,.1/2.1/2)

And also make sure under the settings for the PSTN and Line1 that you set your line impedence to 370+620||310nF as this is the correct setting for the NZ phone system. Also enable the echo cancellation to on. There is a chance now you'll have bad echo on calls still so you'll have to fiddle with the FXO gain settings to try and eliminate this, reducing both to around -6 should reduce or eliminate this however this will make your voice quieter. You really need to do a bit of testing to work out the optimum setting.

i think it has something to do with my dial plans/rules on my trixbox...
any ideas

What do you have as your outbound dial route?

If you want to route local calls via the PSTN and all toll calls via VoIP do something similair to this

Route Name : PSTN

Dial patterns: 1xx
                    xxxxxxx

Trunk Sequence : <select your trunk you use for PSTN>

Route Name : VoIP

Dial patterns: 0.

Trunk Sequence : <select your trunk you use for VoIP>

This will route 111 and other 3 digit numbers like 123 as well as 7 digit local numbers via the PSTN and all calls that start with 0 such as 0912345667 via your VoIP provider.
