Just wanting to know from 2 Talk users, what the uptime is like, I.e. Are their servers rock solid or are there frequent outages. Not really interested in voice quality issues, as that really has nothing to do with 2 Talk.

Voice quality issues have a LOT to do with the VoIP provider (whether it be 2talk or any other provider)

I've had a secondary line with them for about 6 years and only had an small outage about twice in that period.  They seem very reliable to me..

2Talk are great.

I have put schools, doctors practices, transport companies etc on to them in all different scenarios (FreePBX servers, Samsung PABX's, NEC PABX) and all are rock solid.

Don't think I've had an issue with them in the 6 months I've been with them so far. 

Most of the downtime of my line is internet troubles with Spark/Power outages

We have had no reliability issues in 3 years of using them commercially via a number of ISPs.

We've been with 2talk for about 6 months. No issues at all. Has been as solid as WXC prior.

been with them for about 3 months (so not a long time user) but I haven't had any issues with them.  call quality can go down when i'm doing heavy downloading (but thats to be expected for voip, and its something I should configure my router to fix).

We have a large number of 2talk trunks and can confirm the service is not 100% - you get small outages (either partial or full) every few months.

https://twitter.com/2talkns gives you a bit of an idea of reliability.

I wouldn't rate their support highly either.

That jogs a memory.

You are left on your own to configure your VoIP gear - they won't hold your hand.  We had a VoIP PABX which gave grief and I had no luck getting help from 2Talk to check some settings.  Ended up ripping out the PBX and registering the handsets directly.  Took some time to work out programming buttons etc.

It's not like we're novices either. But you expect to be able to email/call through and get helpful answers from experienced VoIP engineers who know what they're doing.

I wouldn't rate their support highly either.


My last 2Talk support request took a few minutes over one week to get a response. Definitely not up to standard, but far from the worst I've seen. I've only called them a few times, but have always found them helpful. Admittedly, that was in the early days, so things may have changed a bit.

Out of curiosity, how would you rate Full Flavour support Jesse?

I've used both WxC and 2Talk for over 5 years. I still rate WxC higher.
- WxC, better voice quality. There is not much in it these days, but used to be quite a noticeable difference
- WxC, better international links. I find 2talk still have a higher number of issues with calling overseas numbers
- WxC, just works; 2talk I find still have minor glitches occasionally, e.g. calls sometimes take longer to connect, or fail and other random stuff

Overall though, 2talk is certainly a lot more reliable than it use to be and there isn't much in it between WxC and 2talk. 2talk is certainly better bang for buck, but this is balanced against the lack of support if you have issues and a minor drop in quality.

I've used 2talk without any issues for a couple of years - the strange thing is I have a contact who is also on 2talk and if I have issues it always seems to be when calling them. Even then all it requires is a redial.
