I want to setup Asterisk server for atleast 50-60 people. Can you please tell me the hardware requirement for the same. What will be the best solution and hardware card??
If its for a business, and the phone system is critical to business operation, I would use a small server with raid 5 sata drives and redundant power+cool. Any new CPU 3.0GHz or over will be enough (Or any dual core cpu) (although if you are a call-center type operation then your requirements will increase). Put 2GB of ram in it.
Cards? Well, you have not provided any information there. I could tell you to use an ISDN card, but thats no good if you dont have ISDN.
How to you want to connect to your telco? SIP? POTS? BRI? PRI?
Thanks for the reply.. Yes, i have 500 gb Sata drive with 2 gb RAM... Intel Core 2 Quad machine. I need to know what are the prerequisites? (dialogic card or digium card) and with 2 or 4 ports??I have one single public IP, and asterisk will be behind firewall for security purposes. I think one digiium card with 2 ports are sufficient. And the output of digium card will be terminated at switch. Afterwards, from switch to convertor (RJ45 to RJ11).. and then telephone lines. i want suggestions from you all as i am amateur in asterisk technology...
