Hi all,
This post has two aspects to it. I am looking for some advice as to where the potential constraints could be, then in turn if there is any constraints, some advice on what products I should be looking at would be fantastic, firstly though let me tell you a bit about the problem I'm encountering, it may be fairly simple but my experience in this area is limited.
So the current setup is a Telecom/Spark generic ADSL modem connected to (you guessed it) an ADSL line with POTS and a basic PBX which in turn relay the audio from the sites audio system over the phone. The ADSL modem is service Wireless clients also.
This is used for conferencing into the site to dial in to listen to the seminars being given, however every so often when there are roughly 5 or more people dialed into the phone to listen, they experience what can be described as dead air - more than a few seconds of no audio.
My initial suspect was the router/ modem not being able to handle the traffic, as it only has 100mb ethernet ports etc so it is probably straining with serving the wireless clients and also relaying the audio being heard over the telephone line.
My question is, in order to resolve the issue, what should I be looking at? Replacing the router/modem? Implementing some basic QoS? I haven't done any fault finding on the line (YET) as it appears to be working fine.
Any advice/ being pointed in the right direction is going to be greatly appreciated, and if I have left anything out for you, please just post and I will try clarify it to the best of my ability.
Cheers
