I am considering porting my phone to 2talk so have created a 2talk 0 plan which is a pay as you go account so I can test it.
It has an 028 number on this plan.
One of the issues I have is will you be able to access Easycall on a Local number as I cannot on an 028 number.
To access Easycall you dial 01221 (from a local number) or 01222 (payphone etc).

Is there anyone out there that can try it for me, you should get a message asking for a PIN.

I realise you get 250 minutes per month of National and Country calling but my wife has recently topped up Easycall and then they had a Promo so she topped up again so now has about 12 hours of Talk Time to Thailand mobiles at 4 cents per minute, or an additional 6 cents per minute if she uses 01222.

Mind you its not unusual for her to talk to them for an hour or so at a time LOL.

Another thought may be that it is the Dial Plan (or Digitmap) that I got from an ATA on the 2Talk Support page that is stopping it.
I have installed it in the Huawei HG659b I am using, note I can make ordinary calls on 2Talk so not the modem

I already logged a ticket with 2Talk last week but no response yet (abysmal)

So can anyone help with calling 01221 and 01222 on their 2Talk local number?

I tried that 01221 for you and it did not connect, but really that is fair enough. For company's to stay in business they have to make some money and if a super cut rate voip provider transported the calls to another super cut rate provider effectively for free they would not be able to stay in business. I mean how cheap can you get ? The toll rates on 2talk are very very low and asking them to allow access to calling card services is not in my opinion reasonable, everyone has to eat eh.

I got an interesting response from my 2talk landline. It told me "you do not have enough credit to dial this number". To double check, I just dialled my mobile phone with no issues, so lack of funds is not a problem.

Yes I got the same, probably a nicer error code than "wtf, we need to eat too!"  :-)

There are other calling card companies that also use similar codes
They usually start with 014 or 015

I also see that the part of the Dial Plan out of the 2Talk Support webpage for the Cisco SPA-122 has the following code
01[1234569]x.| which covers those numbers among others.

Yes I got the same, probably a nicer error code than "wtf, we need to eat too!"  :-)


or "no amount of credit would be enough to dial this number"

Ditto here too from my 2talk phoneline. I did get not enough credit to dial this number. However I did dial the 09 3537777 that is on their website and I did get asked for a pin.

I emailed Easycall about using 01221 etc and this was their response:

 

For most people dialling our short codes works just fine.  However, for whatever reason some telcos do not seem to support our short codes on their network for some reason (they’re supposed to).  When we find a telco that doesn’t support our short codes we raise the issue and try and get it opened up on their network.

So it seems as though they should support the codes but dont or dont want to.

I have asked Easycall to follow it up with 2Talk
