Hi,
I've just registered a Doro 5065 DECT phone with my Fritz!box. The registration was simple, and I can make and receive calls, but the caller ID is not displayed. If I plug a cordless phone in the analogue port on the Fritz the caller ID is displayed. Has anyone else had any luck with the Doro phone?

Cheers
Bruce

DECT ('GAP') inter-operability between manufacturers isn't all it's cracked up to be, as you have found!

:(

I've seen similar CLID and distinctive-rigng problems with other brands too (eg Gigaset handset on Snom base-station).

hmm,
I've seen a couple of lists of phones that work with the fritz!box, which the doro 5065 was claimed to be one, but it would be nice to know which phones also worked with CLID and distinctive ring. Anyone have any suggestions.

There is a compatibility list on the Fritz!Box Forums:

DECT Phones compatible with the Fritz!Box

5065 is posted as working. But in saying that, my cheap Panasonic KX-TG2721 worked perfectly (except for caller ID). CLI worked via analogue.

In the end I just upgraded to a Fritz!fon and have not looked back.

Hi,
I assume that the list you refer to means that you can make and receive calls, but not much else.

Its probably best to post that question to somebody in the fritzbox forums.

I researched the subject quiet a bit for my Panasonic. In the end I assumed that because the phone was DECT-GAP compliant it would work without issues. But then I noticed the CLI issue, everything else worked perfectly. I would take that list with a grain of salt.

There is more info available in the Australian whirlpool forums here.

Have you tried the simple vs expanded options for the Calling line identification presentation (CLIP) option?

Telephony | Telephony Devices | <select Doro device> | 3rd tab "Telephony Device Features"

Also some ideas at the link below:

Thanks for the ideas, I see AVM say CLIP may not work will all handsets. Also the "simple vs expanded" option don't appear for DECT Telephony Devices.
Might have shell out for a fritz fon :-(

Consider getting a Yealink SIP-W52T and terminating the SIP on that instead. That's what I'd use :)
