I have just got a Linksys WAG54GP2v2, and signed up to VFX. However I am getting some background noise on the line. I would describe this as a faint (but really anoying) squeal.  I want to make sure its fixable before I go to nDSL !!

I have tried;
- 3 different phones (2 normal and 1 cordless), and still no difference.
- With and without DSL filter - still no difference.

How has everyone else with this device found the voice ports?  Has anyone had the same problem and managed to fix it?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

Is this when your on a call only or does it occur as soon as you pick up the phone ?

@ Maverick .. now that you mention it, it seems to start as soon as the call connects. If I just pick up the handset the noise is not there.

If you can PM you VFX number I will take a look,

Does this occur every time, ie Inbound and Outbound ?

Is it only on your end or does the other End hear it as well ?

Thanks for the PM,

Adjusting the level setting (FXO output Gain by -3db) reduced the background comfort noise to the phone itself. Call quality itself is good which is great to hear, just the slight comfort noise was bit high when on a call.
