I know you can get local numbers in Auckland, Dunedin etc.. with Italk and the likes but do any providers give local numbers for somewhere like Whakatane?

Sorry to say, it looks like you are still out of luck in Whakatane Frown

However, WxC have been rolling out new regions during November/December, so Whakatane may not be too far away.

It would be best to PM Maverick and ask him.

As far as any other VoIP providers are concerned -- I have never seen Whakatane offered by them either.

I would go along with what Grant said. You will probably find that VFX will be in Whakatane before too long and certainly probably before Italk as Italk has got a lot of catching up to do as far as local numbers in a lot of areas where VFX is already established.
