Hi

Finally I bit the bullet and bought the SPA3102. I search around the forum and got what looked like some great links to get this device connected to Trixbox. Unfortunately, the various articles kind of provided different advice and whilst I am able to call out from trixbox to the PSTN with the config I used, for the life of me I cannot get Trixbox to receive a call from the PSTN through the SPA3102. I need a bit of help!

One of the first things that points to a config issue is the Voice status page. Line 1 show that it is registered fine, but the PSTN registration entry just shows "Failed". That cannot be good!  I have checked the user and password entries and double checked the trunk config. The Asterisk Info pages suggest that both the Line and Trunk are registered, but the SPA3102 disagrees. I am wondering if the problem is more related to the WAN/LAN config. Currently I only have three lights illuminated on the SPA3102 with the right side LED unlit.

The device sits on "my" side of the WAG54GP2 router and the CAT5 cable is plugged into the Internet port on the device. I have the WAN side configured for DHCP with a reserved IP address in the DHCP server in the WAG54GP2. I can reach the config pages no problem, so the device is "reachable".

The links I found indicated that no registration entry was needed for the trunk. I have tried with and without - no difference.

Do any of you have reference to any documentation that you followed that produced a working solution i.e. the PSTN call being directed through to Asterisk to be handled like any other trunk.

Any help would be very welcome. PS I also followed the same link that zimbonz referred to in a thread further down the main list but to no avail. Again, the outgoing calls work, its just the incoming that does not get though.

PS I monitored an incoming call and the device shows "Ringing" on the status page confirming that it does see the PSTN line.

Cheers Mike

Well it looks like it may have been working correctly even though it specified that registration had failed!

I reduced the ring count before answering to 1 and tried another call. This time I have an entry in the Asterisk reports showing the call coming in. So, perhaps there never was a problem!

Does anyone who has the SPA3102 working show (on the Router Status page) that the PSTN Registration has succeeded?

Cheers Mike

One final question - everything else now seems to be working:

Caller ID does not appear to pass through - even with the CID delay set to 3. Is this a normal situation with the SPA3102 or is there a trick to getting the caller id into the Asterisk box?

Cheers Mike
