Hi All! First time poster but long time lurker, screwed up my last post.

My trusty PAP2T has just died, so I was forced to buy another ATA. Being the stinge I am, I foolishly purchased an ATA from the early 1600's: the Cisco 186.

Spent a little bit of time on the phone with Slingshot getting some details, but they were overly unhelpful because the ATA is so old. Now I know there are people here who have got these going, and it's very likely just a box with some incorrect info somewhere. I've posted screencaps of my current config, can someone pleasssse look over them and tell me what's wrong - I'd be forever grateful.

Thanks in advance,

Dan :-)

Sorry I can't offer any advice on settings for your Cisco :(

But if you end up giving up on it, I can recommend these as a good ATA:

https://www.ascent.co.nz/productspecification.aspx?itemID=434629

Relatively economical ($67 from Ascent, inc freight), easy to configure & use, and reliable (probably because underneath they're actually a little Linux box running Asterisk!).

Hi,

I've purchased one of these - but Slingshot are absolutely useless with information.

Can you please post some screencaps of what I need to be entering?

Regards,

Dan

Heya

I don't use Slingshot sorry (for the reasons that you are stating, amongst others), so I don't have record of the server addresses etc that need to be used.

But it should only really be a matter of configuring the SIP login name & password, along with the SIP server address.

Do you know those details? Looking at your screenshots for the Cisco it appears you have some details to enter. Have you tried them? Which part isn't working? Do you get dialtone on your analog phone?
