I pay for a skype landline number. I use a skype dualphone and a Skype Belkin desktop phone to receive calls and both worked fine until recently, and now neither will receive calls to my skype landline number although I can ring out ok.  They both have a strange symbol showing on the screens - a horizontal handset and an arrow above coming towards the handset and then going away. I have checked the settings and do not have call forwarding or call divert activated. Software is up to date. Any ideas of what is causing the problem or how to fix it?

Thanks

Thanks, could be. I wonder what "it does not deliver a consistent Skype customer experience or support our cross-platform application-development efforts" means in real English? Does it mean that they want to make the phones redundant to make people buy something else?

Wow I thought they actually ended that service years ago. I didn't realise it had such a long grace period before being shut down.

There is nothing on the Skype website about it and they are still happy to sell Skype numbers.

Skype still works fine with inbound numbers. It's products like your Belkin phone that won't work.

As mentioned above it was announced in 2013 that all these products which use the original Skype protocol and are now all 12-13 years would no longer be supported from 2017. Skype couldn't continue to support such old technology.

Skype on Linux, TV sets, Skype-compatible cameras is dead. Even on Windows Phone (from 1st July).

Your Skype number will still work just fine on Skype for Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android.

Your Skype handset is now a paper-weight.

That platform is irrelevant in any case.
