Morning Everyone...blah monday!

We are looking to get a USA number which we can receive calls and make calls. It is important that people in USA call a "usa number".
Doing some googling and see google talk used to do this but apparently not anymore as things have changed to Google Hangouts.

Have tried google Hangouts and cant seem to find anything about acquiring a number.

We also made a test call from hangouts and it shows as "unkown number" is there any other way to do this? Doesnt have to be google hangouts.

You can get a USA line via 2talk. You could get an ATA and then it will work from any broadband connection.

Cheers, Matt

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Google Voice still exists but you need to have an American google account. I'm sure there are probably ways to do this from NZ.
Using the Hangouts dialer you can also set it up to show as a call originating from your mobile phone's number

There are other options like skype numbers as well.
